The Navy Sailors and the Stowaway Kittens
It all began when Eric Hanst and his fellow sailors were Navy deployed overseas. When they were in port for a few days, they were greeted by an unexpected guest. “A cat came aboard via mooring line. We lost track of her, and found her later that evening. We managed to get her back to the pier, and waved goodbye as we took off. This cat seemed unusually upset by this,” said Hanst.
What they did not know was that the cat didn’t just come alone. “It turns out, when she managed to sneak on
board, she also managed to smuggle on three kittens. We thought she had given
birth on the ship, but it was pointed out to us that they were too big to be
only a few days old.”
When they were sailing off, no one on board was aware of the kittens. The little ones were very confused,
looking for their mom for almost four days until they were discovered in the
machine shop. “We found one initially and the other two a couple hours
afterwards,”Hanst added.
Even though the crew had little experience bottle feeding a kitten, they all jumped into action, doing everything they could to help these little creatures. They did not have a bottle, so they improvised. They found boxes and necessary things to make a temporary nest for the kittens. They were all so proud, holding their new furry buddies and letting them climb all over them. When it comes to bottle feeding the kittens, these sailors showed remarkable love and care to the tiny little creatures that were about the size of their palm. They were gentle to the kittens and tended to their every
whim.
“After the initial shock of being found, and feeding, the kittens were just as happy and playful as any other cute little bugger you’d find anywhere else. They were great boost to crew morale, and I LOVED THEM,” said Hanst.
After they docked, the
kittens were transported to local veterinary services. “We managed to find homes for all three kittens. I talked a friend into adopting one of the kittens; the other two were taken in by my ‘cat couple’ who are regular
rescuers.”
The soldiers rescued the kittens and the kittens gave them the companionship and love they needed during these long voyages. They both needed one another and it was a blessing that they found each other.

Little Furry Snow White
It was an early morning on July 7th. Qiu Q. was on his way home where he came across a tiny white kitten wandering by herself. “It must be fate… She was most likely left behind. According to the vet, she was around 20 plus days old at the time. Today she is over a month old,” said Qiu.
At the beginning everyone doubts that the little kitten would make it considering her condition. “I fed her one sip at a time. She really pulled through. Now I am just thrilled to see her running and jumping around,” Qiu added.

The Backpacking Cat
A pet cat is accompanying her owners on a mission to tour from Miami to Ushuaia, Argentina on foot on a $2,000 budget per year for about two to three years. Since they can only stay in the U.S. for 85 days, they are walking about 20 miles per day to get their goal accomplished. The French couple and their cat started their trip in Florida, and then were headed west to Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas.
The cat whose name is Kitty, is often seen resting in the backpack while the couple are hiking down the road. They even set up a little umbrella on the backpack to give the kitty some shade from the sun.
Kitty was found by the couple on a busy road when they were in Louisiana. She was very small, abandoned and alone. Initially the couple was going to find her a home, but very soon they decided to keep her because they had madly fallen in love. They took Kitty to the vet to receive shots and a physical checkup.
Kitty enjoys the trip as much as the couple. She often climbs on the shoulder of her daddy to get a good look at every new scenery. She does not seem to be shy or bashful about meeting new people or visiting a new place. The kitty is growing to be a world-class adventurous explorer, perhaps the first cat that gets to tour almost half way around the world.
The couple and their cat have attracted a plethora of local media attention wherever they land. The kitty is never shy from the camera. You can tell from the videos below that she is pretty comfortable with it. You can find updates and more photos of theirjourney on their website.

Kitty Proposal
Becka woke up to her kitty on top of her with a surprise around his neck. The lovely kitty named Tucker helped his human dad propose that day.“I proposed to my girlfriend of 7 years today … I’m bad at this kind of stuff so I had my cat help me out,” said Dhareza M, a designer and photographer from New York. ”To think nobody wanted him (Tucker) at the shelter… I think we scored big when we brought him home!” said Becka.
The Cat Lady
An elderly lady from Wuhan, China walks with a cane every day to a school to feed a feral cat that she befriended one day. Despite her age and health, she’s never missed a single day of visit to her favorite feline friend. The love the kitty has for her human friend is reciprocal. The little tabby waits at the same spot anticipating for her provider every day. Though the elderly woman can’t move around very easily and her hair has turned grey, seeing the kitty well and fed is worth so much more to her.
The kitty has become a friend who brings love and comfort to the elderly lady. They share a very special bond. They don’t speak the same language, but they seem to understand each other. They meet at the same time in the same location and do the same things together every day. It’s so simple yet means so much to both.
